Adopting an olive tree at Organic Farming Italy means being part of sustainable agriculture in Italy for the period of the olive tree adoption. Your organic olive tree will receive a name plate with your desired name made of olive wood for this period. Giulia and Naina will take photos and a video of your sponsored olive tree and send them to you. You will also receive a certificate for your sponsorship of an olive tree. For the sponsorship of an olive tree a Dropbox folder is created and optionally additionally a WhatsApp group. The video, pictures and certificate will be uploaded there, then you can view them from any place.

With each olive tree adoption, part of the adoption fee goes to a charity in Liguria that supports organic farming in Italy and helps farmers in emergency situations “Rete Tesori della Riviera”. It is currently helping olive growers in Liguria who have run into problems due to poor harvests caused by the drought.

All godparents who adopt an olive tree receive extra virgin organic olive oil from their olive tree after the harvest, which is carried out from October to December. Since the harvests vary greatly, Organic Farming Italy guarantees half a liter of olive oil for each tree, regardless of the size of the olive tree. After the harvest, as soon as we know how much the olive tree has really produced, the godfathers of the olive trees have the possibility to order more olive oil from their tree at a preferential price (-4€ per bottle).

The delivery time for the creation of the certificate, the selection of the olive tree, the production of the signs including photos and the vidoe varies, since it is not feasible in bad weather. But usually Giulia and Naina do the signs twice a week. This means that on average it takes us 3-4 days to get things ready.

When you adopt an olive tree, it is usually for one year. This will ensure that you have a crop with you during this term and get olive oil from your tree. At the end of this year we will write to you and ask you if you want to extend the olive tree sponsorship. The following year is then slightly cheaper. If you want to adopt an olive tree and give the gift of adoption to someone, you can also add a gift package. This is a beautiful box that contains the certificate of adoption beautifully printed in a white real wood frame and a bottle of organic olive oil from the farm. A personal greeting card is also possible. We send the gift either to you or directly to the recipient.

Everything we do, we try to do in a way that promotes the conservation of our climate and nature. So we grow everything in our farm according to the BioCert Oranisation standards, which are much stricter than the EU organic standards. In addition, we avoid waste and have our olives pressed at CALVI, which runs a state-of-the-art almost completely waste-free organic production.
In addition, we do not ship the olive oil individually to customers in Europe, but have created warehouses in the countries from where we ship. This saves a lot of CO2. Last but not least, our materials such as cardboard boxes are made entirely from recycled material or from grass cardboard, which is also made from 60% grass.
